Bio
Edward “Eddie” Liskovec was born in Thompsonville, Michigan, in 1929. After graduating high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and retired in 1967 after 20 years of service.
Liskovec worked as an insurance advisor for a while after retirement, but his real desire was to attend college. After testing the waters as a part-time student, he and his wife Muffin decided he should attend full-time.
At age 42, Liskovec was offered an athletic scholarship to play golf at a junior college in Florida. This made him the oldest junior college golfer in the nation.
In 1978, Eddie was hired by Roane State as a full-time instructor and golf coach. The following year, RSCC fielded its first golf team.
After retiring from RSCC in 1990, Liskovec began competing in the Senior Olympics. Eddie started with golf, then expanded to racquetball, track and field events, and pickleball.
To date, Liskovec has earned more than 300 medals as a participant in the district, state, and national Senior Olympics.
