Bio
Monica Boles started playing basketball in second grade, developing a love for the game. After graduating from Clarkrange High School in 1998, she joined the Roane State women’s team.
It was here that Boles says she was welcomed as family and was able to develop those critical skills. She earned Player of the Year and was a finalist for Roane State’s President’s Award.
Boles graduated in 2001 and transferred to Carson-Newman University, where she continued her career in academics and basketball.
After earning her bachelor’s degree in physical education, Boles returned to Roane State as an employee in the Fitness Department. In time, she volunteered with the women’s basketball team.
In 2006, Monica traded in her #11 for a whistle when she became a full-time faculty member and head women’s basketball coach for Roane State.
Boles served as head coach from 2006 through 2019, earning the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA) Coach of the Year honors for the 2015–2016 season.
Boles currently serves as a full-time faculty member teaching physical education, health, and wellness.
